The development of the additional spaces was made possible through the Rotary Club of Antigua with financial contributions from its corporate partners namely: The Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank (ECAB), the Citizenship by Investment Unit, Grant Thornton and the Board of Education.
The unveiling of the new edifices took place earlier this month on November 5th 2020, in the presence of Rotarians, students, teachers and representatives from each of the corporate partners.
Each partner was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Rotary Club of Antigua and all shared similar sentiments expressing the importance of enhancing educational opportunities for the nation’s youth. They added that the opportunity to be a part of the project, not only showcases their corporate social responsibility, but individual commitments to the critical development of some of the country’s most valuable assets.
President of the Rotary Club of Antigua, Kevin Silston, expressed the Club’s profound gratitude to the four corporate businesses which “answered the call for financial assistance”, when approached. He noted that the Club will certainly maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with the entities.
The Club’s President also emphasized that the Rotary Club of Antigua will continue to play a critical role in the further development and enhancement of education in the twin island state as part of its mantra “Service Above Self”.
He also commended everyone who was integrally involved in the project to include Project Manager, Rotarian Denise Limerick, who brought the project to the Club’s attention.
The project was executed under one of Rotary’s seven Areas of Focus, which is Basic Education and Literacy!
