Today's Guest Speaker: Mr. Shavar Maloney
Topic: Volunteering in the Digital Age: A Shifting Landscape
Meet Shavar Maloney, who is a communications specialist with experience in Marketing, Public Relations and Corporate Communications.
He currently serves as the Marketing Officer for The UWI Five Islands Campus.
Hailing from St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Shavar is a proud graduate of The University of The West Indies, Mona with a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Communication with First Class Honours and is currently pursuing an MBA in Marketing.
He was the recipient of several awards including being a UWI Open Scholar and receiving the Dean’s Award at The UWI Mona as the top student in the Faculty of Humanities and Education in 2011 and 2012.
He has served in several roles at the university level including as UWIAA Alumni Contact for St. Vincent, UWISTAT Vice Chancellor Ambassador and President of the Vincentian Students Association Jamaica.
Shavar has previously worked in the areas of education, aviation, and corporate communications in local and regional capacities in St Vincent & Antigua.
He has volunteered in several civic society groups including the Lions Club Kingstown and SVG Rowing Association.
When not travelling, Shavar enjoys photography, vlogging and cooking.
