The Rotary Club of Antigua has donated to the Breast Feeding Support Network to allow them to bring awareness to the community of Antigua as a part of their observance of Breast feeding week.

A a part of the initiative they executed a virtual latch on program where mothers at a designated time will simultaneously breastfeed their infants under the supervision of a lactation consultant who will provide feedback and address issues. Pregnant women are also encouraged to join. Mom participating in the fun quiz segment will be treated to spa gifts.

They also executed a photo shoot against the iconic backdrop of Betty’s Hope, 10 mothers will be photographed breastfeeding their infants individually and for the composition of a group shot.

This powerful visual public service announcement will be disseminated on social media and in the traditional media as a means of further normalizing the practice of breastfeeding in Antigua and Barbuda
Rotary Club of Antigua is pleased to support Antigua & Barbuda Breastfeeding Week September 20-25 2020 - Support breastfeeding for a healthier planet

Breastmilk is the ideal food for infants. It is safe, clean and contains antibodies which help protect against many common childhood illnesses. Breastmilk provides all the energy and nutrients that the infant needs for the first months of life, and it continues to provide up to half or more of a child’s nutritional needs during the second half of the first year, and up to one third during the second year of life.

Help to normalize breastfeeding in Antigua & Barbuda by supporting breastfeeding mothers.
