Rotary Club of Antigua partners with Antigua Commercial Bank to bring Relief

The Antigua Commercial Bank (ACB) in partnership with the Rotary Club of Antigua, as an extension of their ongoing Covid-19 relief efforts made several timely donations to three local organizations; the Ex-Servicemen Association of Antigua and Barbuda, the Good Sheppard Home for Girls, as well as the Sunshine Home for Girls.

Shantia Edwards, Marketing and PR Representative of ACB, remarked, “After visiting and dialoging with the principal members of the organizations, we were able to clearly identify some immediate needs and determine the best ways to assist, and ACB is happy to have been able to meet these needs”.

All of the members of the Ex-Servicemen Association and the spouses of some of the deceased members, were gifted with food vouchers valued at EC$250 each. The House Mothers of the Good Sheppard Home for Girls and Sunshine Home for Girls were presented with desktop computers, to assist the residents of the respective homes with their academic pursuits.

Dr. Vanetta Rodgers, President of the Rotary Club of Antigua, who played an integral role in this project, was also present at the event to assist with the presentation of the items and commented, it was a humbling and rewarding experience to interact with the various institutions and to learn of their needs.

“ACB continues to work with us to bring relief to those in need. The contributions of the Ex Servicemen cannot be forgotten and now that they are vulnerable due to Covid-19, we need to show our support. I commend ACB for funding this initiative and for going above their initial cash commitment by additionally organizing the computers for the two homes”.

Representatives from the three organizations commended Antigua Commercial Bank and the Rotary Club of Antigua for always demonstrating exemplary corporate social responsibility, and expressed their gratitude for the timely donations, which will provide relief to some of the country’s most vulnerable individuals.
