Today as part of raising awareness about mental health issues affecting the twin island nation, the Rotary Club of Antigua had the distinct pleasure of hosting Mental Health Advocate Chaneil Imhoff, who delivered an insightful and thought-provoking presentation on the topic: "Mental Health and the Impact on Economic Development."

Ms. Imhoff highlighted the critical link between mental well-being and national productivity here in Antigua and Barbuda, shedding light on how untreated mental health issues can lead to reduced workforce participation, increased absenteeism, and lower overall economic output. Her presentation emphasized the importance of investing in accessible mental health services as a cornerstone of sustainable development.
She also spoke passionately about the need to break the stigma surrounding mental health, encouraging both public and private sector leaders to create supportive environments for employees and communities alike.
The session sparked meaningful dialogue among members, reinforcing Rotary's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote holistic well-being and long-term development.
We thank Ms. Imhoff for sharing her expertise and passion with us, and for her continued advocacy in this vital area.
