The Foundation Mixed School's Major Emanuel is the winner of the Rotary Club of Antigua's 2026 Book Reading Competition.
The event took place on Saturday 7th March 2026 at the Methodist Conference Hall, with the eight participating students reading a passage from the book "Tete's Butterfly", written by local author Mrs.Floree Williams - Whyte, in the first round of the competition.
In the 2nd round, the top five students who advanced, were required to read a current affairs article in the format on a news presentation.
In the end, the results were as follows:
1st Place: Major Emanuel – Foundation Mixed School (135 points)
2nd Place: Jayhem Joshua – T.O.R. Memorial School (125 points)
3rd Place: Eidrik Piper – Five Islands Primary School (117 points)
The other participating students hailed from T.O.R. Memorial, Mary E. Pigott, S.R. Olivia David, St. Michael’s Anglican and Sunnydale Primary School.
