Under the Rotary international theme this year, “Rotary Connects the World”, the Rotary Club of Antigua (RCA), has installed a new Board for the 2019-2020 Rotary Year, during the 2019 Handover and Awards Ceremony held over the week-end.

This year the Club will be led by President Dr. Vanetta Rodgers, who has indicated that she is looking forward to a phenomenal year, which will be filled with a number of activities geared towards expanding the Club’s reach in community development as well as increasing the visibility of the charitable organization. President Vanetta also expressed thanks to the members of the new board for agreeing to serve in the respective capacities.

She emphasized that the Rotary theme “Rotary Connects the World”, is a fitting one, since one of the objectives of the Club revolves around bringing people from all walks of life and classifications together in a positive way and to give back to society. The newly installed President received her instruments from the outgoing President Adekunle Osoba.

Club Treasurer – Julietta Rhudd

Club Administrator- Joanna Shamarie Spencer

The Directors are: Ilean Ramsey, (Foundation), Rozanne Emanuel, (Youth Service), Kirk Francis, (Service Projects) and C. Kevin Silston, (Membership).

Daren Matthew Ward and Elisa Graham will serve as the Sergeant At Arms and Public Relations Officer respectively.

Two members were also pinned during the ceremony. They were Joanna Shamarie Spencer as a returning member and Louisianne Josiah as a new member. They both expressed happiness to be a part of the service organization and look forward to giving back to the community.

Guest Speaker, Reverend Fr. Christopher Roberts, wished the New Board a successful year. He also urged the membership to work together and be mindful of egos which can impact the effectiveness and efficiency of the Club negatively. Gt. Roberts also congratulated the Club on the work that it continues to do in positively assisting with the development of society.

The auspicious occasion, which was hosted by Sergeant At Arms and radio personality, Daren Matthew-Ward took place at Royalton Antigua Resort & Spa over the weekend and was highly attended by Rotarians and their Partners in Service, friends of Rotary, Rotaractors and other specially invited guests.
