Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your President during the 2010-2011 Rotary Year. Also, many thanks to my Board of Directors for your overwhelming support during the year.
 
Some of the successes achieved during the year include:
 
Projects
  • Meals-on-Wheels – Over 100 monthly food packages for needy persons in the community.
  • With Bellevue Breakfast Club, Washington State (February 2011): Computer for the World (C4W) - Replaced/Installed 250 computers in schools and advanced students in computer systems; Dictionary Project - Almost 2000 dictionaries were distributed to schools (public and private) in Antigua and Barbuda; schools in Montserrat also received dictionaries; Chess Project was introduced in 11 public primary schools. The Programme    included training  of  teachers,  student orientation and follow-up provision of audio    visual equipment, curriculum for all teachers, classroom chess sets for 28 classrooms  and  over 700 personal chess sets to students (September 2010); Health Care - Diabetic/Foot Care Programme (February 2011).
Fund Raising
  • Colours Fete (July 2010)
  • Annual Golf Tournament  in partnership   with   Bank   of Nova Scotia (April 2011)
Youth Programmes
  • Continual support of  the Rotaract Club of Antigua and to a lesser  extent,  the sponsored 1 Rotaracter and 2 Perspective Interactors to Rotary Youth Leadership (RYLA) (St. Kitts) (October 2010)
Membership
  • Inducted   5   new   Rotarians
 
Rotary Foundation
  • 100% Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) 
  • Paul Harris Fellows – the Highest Award in Rotary International was awarded to Hon. Dr. Baldwin Spencer and Director of Education Mrs. Jacintha Pringle.

  • District  Governor Citation of Club of the Year District 7030 for 2010/2011
  • Rotary International Presidential Citation 2010/2011
